Introduction
The first time you launch Podesk Publisher, you will be asked for :
your Video Blog Login (if you are using Dotclear, it’s your Dotclear login).
your Video Blog Password (if you are using Dotclear, it’s your Dotclear password).
your Podesk key number. If you don’t already have one or lost it go to the Podesk Publisher registration page
You can remember those settings for later use.
Encoding Settings (Windows XP only) :
When starting Podesk Publisher, you have to choose the encoding settings, this have to be done each time you launch Podesk Publisher on Windows XP. Encoding is done using iPod settings on OSX and Quicktime movie settings on Windows XP.

Publish TAB
Title form : This is the place to type the title of your post.
Post form : This is the place to type information about your video.
Instant publication : (on by default), Your video will be published instantly on the web site.
Category : Your categories created with your weblog are listed here, you can choose one with the menu. By Default the category on top is chossen.
Drag and Drop Area : You can drop files or folders onto the preview screen. Their content will be published !
Video Stream : If you click on the preview screen or select the Webcam icon, Podesk will try to find if there is any webcam or video source conected to your computer, once the video stream opened, you can configure it using the setup tab. You can select the maximum duration of the recording (up to 90 minutes), but you can stop the recording before by clicking the red button).
Batch Folder : If you are publishing a folder with many videos, it will show the videos remaining to be published.
Status messages
Encoding in progress : files are being processed, do not stop Podesk, it may take some time, depending the speed of your computer. When encoding a large file, you can put Podesk in the background and continue to work on other applications.
Uploading Files : files are being sent to the Podesk server, do not stop Podesk, it may take some time, depending the speed of your connection. When uploading a large file, you can put Podesk in the background and continue to work on other applications.
Building Website : Podesk is making the website.
Entry sucessfully created : You can already watch your movie (depending the publication settings).
Setup TAB
Scratch Disc : the scratch disc is located by default at the root of the Podesk Publisher (temp folder) Application folder. It’s better to choose another one (on another partition for example). Be aware that video files can be huge !
Live Input Settings : Once a video stream opened (by clicking on the preview screen, or selecting the Webcam icon), you have access to the video and sound settings.
Encoding Settings : You can change the encoding settings.
Scene Detection : Activate the scene detection option, this will add some time to process the video, but will also generate more MPEG7 descriptions for your video.
Pass Through upload : Option to upload video files without Podesk Compression. The Videos have to be Quicktime compatible.
Video Blog entry Launch : Open the URL where you can watch the video, once processed and uploaded to the server.
Login TAB
If you have created a new category within your Web Log, you have to "refresh" the Podesk Publisher Categories by clicking "ok".
